Modern Vedic Astrology: A Study in the Power of the Vedas

What is Modern Vedic Astrology?

WHAT IS MODERN VEDIC ASTROLOGY?

Modern Vedic astrology is a unique system of study and practice, which aims to revive the art and science of vedic astrology as it was practiced in ancient India, before the onset of modern times.

A system that uses the art of Vedic Astrology as its base, Modern Vedic Astrology is an approach to understanding and interacting with our world through the lens of the stars and planets. This form of astrology also seeks to bring back some of the practices that were widely used at one time but have since been lost over time.

This vedic astrology blog  explains vedic astrology basics  you need to know about this branch of study and practice.

THE VEDAS

The Vedas

The Vedas refers to the earliest scriptures of Hinduism. These scriptures consist of four collections, known as the Rigveda, composed between 1500 and 1200 BC, the Samaveda, composed between 900 and 500 BC, the Yajurveda, composed between 500 and 300 BC and the Atharvaveda composed sometime between 500 and 200 BC.

The Vedas are considered by Hindus to be divine revelations from God and are considered “the embodiment of the Hindu philosophy of knowledge.” In addition to being revered for their teachings, the Vedas are also respected for their antiquity as some postulate that these ancient texts predate other world records.

The word “Veda” is derived from the Sanskrit vidya which means “knowledge” or “wisdom.”The Vedas are believed to have been revealed by God in order to preserve knowledge for future generations. The Vedas contain hymns (songs) and chants (prayers), as well as prose passages written in a formal style called shloka. The Vedas also include discussions on ritualistic topics such as sacrifice, ritual purity, etc. Read Power of the Vedas : Unlock the Sacred Wisdom of Ancient India

The Power of Vedic Astrology

The Power of Vedic astrology is widely acknowledged. This form of astrology is based on the premise that there is a connection between the planets and our lives. The main concepts to understand are the position and movement of the planets in relation to each other. The positions and movements are read from a chart known as an natal chart or birth chart.

The Vedic Astrology is a branch of Vedic astrology which studies the cosmic relationships between the planets, the constellations and the signs.

There are several features of Vedic Astrology. First, it looks at the whole picture when interpreting a horoscope. It takes into account not only planetary positions but also the time of year, day of birth and time spent in different locations. It considers how people interact with nature, how their thoughts and actions shape the world around them, and how these interactions affect both the individual and society at large.

THE POWER OF VEDIC ASTROLOGY

Therefore, it can be said to be both predictive and prescriptive in nature. Second, Vedic Astrology recognizes that there is no one way to read a horoscope. Instead, it encourages people to look for patterns and meaning in what they see in their charts. This allows for greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, which are both essential for growth.

The Basics of Vedic Astrology

Vedic astrology uses the constellations, planets, and signs of the zodiac to explain people’s personalities, relationships, and other aspects of their lives. In Vedic astrology, the positions of the planets and signs are used to interpret people’s past lives and predict future events.

THE FIFTH STAGE OF SPIRITUAL AWAKENING : SURRENDER "EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED"

The word “Vedic” refers to ancient Indian texts that were written between 1500 BCE and 500 CE. These texts describe how different planets and stars affected people’s lives. In these texts, the word “astrology” refers to the science of observing the positions of celestial objects like stars and planets to predict future events. The word “Vedic” was added later by Western astrologers because they thought the original texts were written in Vedic Sanskrit.

THE POWER OF VEDIC ASTROLOGY

The 12 Zodiac Signs

The twelve zodiac signs in Vedic astrology have been used for thousands of years. the 12 Zodiac signs are based on the constellations of the Zodiac. Each sign is associated with a specific element of the universe and has a distinct personality and role to play in human society. The signs also have corresponding elements in nature, which can be used as reference points for assessing an individual’s natural talent and potential.

There are twelve zodiac signs, one for each season: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Each sign contains two constellations: body (ruling planet) and mind (ruling element). This combination gives each sign their unique characteristics. :

In Modern Vedic astrology, each sign is associated with a specific element of the universe. The element determines how a person will tend to express themselves in different areas of life. For example, Aries is associated with fire and is considered a fire sign because it rules over the home, family and physical matters.

The traditional Western approach sees each sign as part of a larger group called a zodiac constellation. This system divides the signs into 12 categories based on star patterns and animal associations.

The 9 Grahas or Navagraha

In Vedic Astrology, the 9 Grahas are considered to be the most important and basic points of reference. They are believed to represent different aspects of our life and are used to provide insights into our personality, strengths, weaknesses and likely outcomes for our future.

The 9 Grahas include the sun (Surya), moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangala), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Brihaspati), Venus (Shukra), Saturn (Shani), Rahu (north node of the moon), and Ketu (south node of the moon).

Each Graha has a specific function in relation to the other eight. For example, Rahu represents transience and change while Saturn represents discipline and stability. Therefore, each Graha has a unique role to play in shaping our individual experience in life.
THE 9 GRAHAS OR NAVAGRAHA

The nine Grahas are the source of all astrological influences. They represent the various layers of consciousness and also encompass a wide range of experiences and feelings. The characteristics of each planet and their cyclical nature are also important in understanding their impact on people and events.

The planets move in cycles with each new one coming into its own position at around 29-30 years old. The position of each planet then lasts for about twelve years before it moves out of that position again. The cycle continues until 29-30 years when the next planet comes into its own position. This is why it is so important to know your position at different times throughout your life so that you can take advantage of the opportunities available to you at any given time.

27 NAKSHATRA KE NAAM

27 nakshatra ke naam

There are 27 Nakshatra signs in astrology, which are constellations that follow the rising and setting of stars. These Nakshatras move through all 12 zodiac signs, and each one lasts for about 27 days. There is no way to predict which Nakshatra will be active at any given time.

Nakshatra is a Sanskrit word meaning “star” or “constellation”. Nakshatras are celestial bodies that travel along specific paths across the sky, each taking approximately 27 days to complete one revolution around the Earth. The path of a nakshatra can be split into four parts: Uttarabhaga (upper half), Dakshinabhaga (middle half), Vahyanabhaga (lower half), and Uttara Varsha (beginning). Each part of a nakshatra has its own name and characteristics, such as Uttarabhaga being known as Rohini.

The names of 27 nakshatras with their rulling deities are Ashwini (Aswini Kumara), Bharani (Yama), Krittika (Agni), Rohini (Brahma), Mrigshirsha (Moon), Ardra (Shiva), Punarvasu (Aditi), Pushya (Jupiter), Ashlesha (Rahu), Magha (Pitr), Purvaphalguni (Bhaga), Uttaraphalguni (Sun), Hasta (Savitr), Chitra (Viswakarma), Swati (Vayu), Vishakha (Indra Agni), Anuradha (Mitra), Jyeshtha (Indra), Moola (Varuna Nirriti), Purvashadha (Apah), Uttarashadha (Brahma), Shravana (Vishnu), Dhanishtha (Vasu), Shatbhisha (Varuna), Poorvabhadrapada (Ekapada), Uttarabhadrapada (Ahirbudhanya) and Revati (Pushan).

How Vedic Astrology Works

Vedic astrology is based on the premise that the planets and stars influence our lives. It is therefore a form of astrology that was born out of the beliefs and practices of Hinduism. In Modern Vedic astrology, we look at how the planetary positions impact our lives. For example, if Mercury is in retrograde motion, that means it is moving backward in its orbit around the sun. This can potentially affect their ability to communicate with others or travel.

HOW VEDIC ASTROLOGY WORKS

For some, this can be a good thing as they want to take time to regroup and reflect on their life before moving forward again. However, others may feel frustrated by this and may even be prone to becoming impatient and agitated during this time. If someone is affected by Mercury retrograde, they should be prepared for any communication problems that arise during these periods.

Vedic astrology also looks at the natal chart of an individual to try to understand what their strengths and weaknesses are so that we can better support them in their life. This can help us determine which areas of life we need to focus on more so that we can maximize our effectiveness and productivity in those areas.

The Birth Chart

The birth chart is a snapshot of your planetary configuration at the moment you were born. It was created from the minute details of your parents’ physical characteristics, along with the time and place of your conception.

The birth chart consists of two sections: the horizontal axis shows the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets at the time of your birth; and the vertical axis shows all of your other family members’ positions as well.

Astrologers typically refer to these two sections as the horoscope and natal chart. The horoscope represents your outer world, while the natal chart represents your inner world. Because they are correlated with each other, they are often referred to as “your personal cosmos.”

THE BIRTH CHART In Astrology

While there are many different ways to interpret a birth chart, one common way is to look for patterns in its positions. For example, if you have Mercury in retrograde for several months straight, it could indicate that something important is going on in your life (like Mercury retrograde being associated with communication difficulties). If you have Venus closely aligned with Uranus, it could indicate that you have some sort of creative urge or need to express yourself (like Venus closely aligned with Uranus being associated with artistic inclinations).

Astrology PREDICTIONS TECHNIQUES

Predictions Techniques

Vedic astrology as a predictive tool has been around since the time of the ancient Vedas. The word “vedic” comes from the Sanskrit term veda, which means knowledge. One way to understand the concept of Vedic astrology is that it is based on the idea that there are specific patterns in nature and human behavior that repeat over and over throughout history. Using these patterns, astrologers can make predictions about future events and people.

One of the main characteristics of Vedic astrology is its reliance on planetary positions. Each planet has specific behaviors, attributes, and effects on people’s lives. Since most planets move through specific parts of space in predictable ways, astrologers can use these movements to predict certain outcomes. There are several different kinds of positions that a planet can take during its orbit: direct position, retrograde position, stationary position, and progressed position.

Prediction techniques in astrology are used to gain insight into the future. They can be divided into horoscope reading and natal chart analysis. In horoscope reading, the astrologer looks at the birth charts of people who share similarities, like birth month or location, to try and make a prediction about their future.

Natal chart analysis looks more deeply at a person’s archetypes and planetary influences to try and make predictions about their personality and how they might act. This is useful if you want to know whether you’re going to end up being a leader of people or an introvert who likes to spend time alone.
